This is my first time to E3, and it has been quite an experience so far. I think I spent the entire day one looking at just half of it. Everywhere you step deserves attention because everything here is so grandiose. But the backbone of the entire event is the gamers that make this industry so awesome. Yeah, I used the word awesome. And you would too if you saw the guy in the "Legend at Work" shirt playing the latest God of War release.
The truth is, that guy, probably 19 years old, could be a legend sometime soon. Any sport is just as good as the players that comprise it; and gaming is no different. All one has to do is look at professional gamer, Jonathan Wendel a.k.a. Fatal1ty (pictured). Now 24 years old, he was just an average kid that is easily representative of the thousands of gamers that are in attendance. But after winning several gaming tournaments, he now has his own booth at E3. Auravision, a company that makes gaming accessories, leverages the Fatal1ty brand on their products.
Now it is true I saw Sinbad yesterday and today I'll see Adam West, both heroes in my book, but I think so far my favorite part of E3 is just watching the expressions on the faces of the attendees - some of which really are legends at work and they will end up being leaders in the gaming community.
more soon,
